Clevelanders for Public Transit Town Hall – June 23rd

A great public transit system can help support are strong connected bike network. Greater Cleveland RTA buses and trains all accommodate bikes as part of their Rack-n-Roll Program. That is why we want to make you aware of an upcoming Town Hall meeting being organized Clevelanders for Public Transit. The purpose of the meeting is to discuss the state of public transportation in Cuyahoga County- and to work to develop solutions to our current funding problems for public transportation.

As it stands, Greater Cleveland RTA has a $7 million budget shortfall. While raising fares and cutting some routes might be an inevitable shortcut to prevent the entire system from collapsing, we know that these are not solutions that work for riders. In fact, they will only drive ridership down further and make it more difficult for people to get to work, school, and get their groceries.
