Key Public Meetings: Extend Protected Lanes on Lorain

Late last year, we were pleased to learn that NOACA had allocated over 6 million dollars for Cleveland’s construction of protected bike lanes on Lorain Avenue – the Lorain Avenue Cycle Track. These protected lanes will run from W20th to W65th > and now there are 2 public meetings where the future paving and restriping from W65th to W117th are under discussion.

Current plans call for a standard bike lane on one side, and a sharrow on the other. In short, we need robust cyclist attendance at these meetings to show support for extending the protected lanes along this stretch. The need for safe, low-stress facilities for all abilities does not end at W65th.
