Moving Greater University Circle Study

University Circle Inc. is conducting a comprehensive study called “Moving Greater University Circle.” It is being completed in three phases, and it will help UCI and its partners assess areas of need and opportunity in University Circle’s transportation system. The study has moved into its second phase, the Transportation & Mobility Study.  Recently, the project team has reviewed past studies, collected data, analyzed travel patterns, and engaged a variety of stakeholder. A series of recommended improvements has been developed for the district that addresses connections and conflict points in the automobile, bicycle, pedestrian, and transit networks. Cycling components being considered are an extension of the Lake-to-Lakes Trail on Stokes, adjustment to crossings at Carnegie/Stearns and the numerous intersections between East Blvd and Stokes, and Euclid to Chester. Other enhancements being considered are an east-west connection between the main CWRU campus and the Upper Chester neighborhood, and bike lanes/road diet on Chester.

Solid work, but now they need your feedback to determine how well these concepts meet the objectives of the study and UCI are conducting a second round of public engagement opportunities, and there will be two open houses on April 14th

  • Tuesday, April 14th, 12:00pm – 2 pm at CWRU’s Tinkham Veale University Center (11038 Bellflower Road)
  • Tuesday, April 14th, 5:30pm – 7:30 pm at Maximum Accessible Housing’s Cotman Vistas (1725 East 115th Street)

Can’t make the open house? Don’t fret. On April 13th UCI will post a survey and wiki map tool will be on the project website and will be open through the end of the month. Both meeting locations are accessible by multiple RTA routes and Circle Link, University Circle’s free circulator.  Parking at the “Tink” is available in the Campus Center Garage, with access off of East Blvd., or on-street.  Parking at Cotman Vistas is available in Lot 30, which is on Euclid Ave., across from the Euclid Tavern, or on-street.  Ample bike parking is available at or nearby each venue.
