Support Needed: Knilans Family Impact Statement

THE KNILANS FAMILY WANTS YOUR PRESENCE

On June 6th 2019, Richard “Randy” Knilans was struck by an automobile while cycling in Avon Lake, and died shortly after from his injuries. The driver of the vehicle was under the influence and left the scene of the crash. The driver was found shortly after.

Sharan Carr, has plead guilty to two counts of aggravated vehicular homicide, OVI, and failure to stop after an accident.

Her sentencing date is on January 10th, and the Knilans Family is looking for heavy support from the cycling community on this day. The family will be providing their Victim’s Impact Statement then, and want to make sure that the greater cycling family of Northeast Ohio is visible as sentencing is considered.

Head to the 7th floor, and the courtroom of Judge Mark Betleski. If turnout is substantial, we will gather outside as well – as news organizations are likely to be present to cover this sentencing.
