Cleveland E-Bike Rebate Program
The City of Cleveland and Bike Cleveland are launching the Pilot Cleveland E-Bike Rebate Program to help Cleveland residents make electric bicycles more affordable.
Beginning September 1, 2026, eligible Cleveland residents can apply for one of 100 rebates to help purchase a new e-bike from a participating local bike shop.
E-bikes can make it easier to get around Cleveland—whether you’re commuting to work, getting to school, running errands, visiting friends and family, or simply enjoying a ride. They can also help reduce transportation costs and provide an affordable alternative to some trips by car. Applications open September 1, 2026 at EBikeCleveland.com. The application will be open for 3 weeks.
Because we expect more eligible applicants than available rebates, recipients will be selected through a random drawing conducted by an independent third-party vendor. This process is designed to provide a fair and transparent opportunity for everyone who applies.
Two Rebate Options
$500 Standard Rebate
A $500 rebate is available to any permanent City of Cleveland resident who:
- Is at least 18 years old
- Meets all other program eligibility requirements
$1,500 Income-Qualified Rebate
A $1,500 rebate is available to permanent City of Cleveland residents who:
- Are at least 18 years old
- Have a household income at or below 80% of Cleveland Area Median Income (AMI), as established by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development
- Meet all other program eligibility requirements
How the Program Works
1. Apply online
Complete the application at EBikeCleveland.com beginning September 1. The application will be open for 3 weeks.
2. Applicants are selected
If applications exceed the number of available rebates, an independent third-party vendor will conduct a random drawing.
3. Get your rebate
Selected applicants will receive information about how to redeem their rebate at a participating local bike shop in their email or by text message.
4. Purchase your e-bike
The rebate can be applied toward the purchase of a qualifying new e-bike, along with eligible bicycle safety equipment and accessories at participating bike shops.
