Random Acts of Brightness
Since 2012, Bike Cleveland and volunteers have been given away hundreds of free bike lights annually through our Random Acts of Brightness program. On October 19th and 23rd we’ll be out again getting cyclists lit!
The Random Acts of Brightness pop-ups will be located in Downtown Cleveland at The Bike Rack and Glenville/University Circle on October 19th; and in Ohio City and Artha Woods Park on October 23rd.
Bike Cleveland staff and volunteers will provide bike lights until time or supplies run out (whichever comes first). Unlit cyclists will be flagged down and called over so we can install front and rear light sets on their bikes. We are also looking for volunteers to ride around in groups to distribute lights to riders.

If you’re stopping by one of our pop-ups please be sure to bring your UNLIT BIKE, as we cannot give you a pair of lights without a bike present. We do this to ensure that we are distributing lights that can be put to use on bikes immediately. Cyclists who stop by will also receive Bike Cleveland’s Biking in Cleveland Guide (a book that tells you the basics of biking safely) and a Cuyahoga County Bike Map.
Interested in volunteering? If you are interested in riding around and handing out lights to people who are unlit or being a stationary volunteer you can sign-up here: https://forms.gle/MtzDLwnHEtdavFPx8. Be sure to bring a backpack or pannier to carry the lights.
