10 Year Anniversary Celebration Recap

A cool, Thursday evening in June saw Bike Cleveland members and supporters gather at the beautiful Stillwater Place at the Cleveland Metroparks. It was our first time at this venue, but this was a special occasion – our 10 Year Anniversary Celebration was in order. We haven’t had a gathering like this in some time due to pandemic restrictions, so it was a joy to see a room full of faces both familiar and new come together with us to celebrate. We thank Ohio Desk and Knabe Law Firm for their sponsorship and support of this fantastic event!

While folks mingled and caught up with one another, they were also busy deciding what raffle items they were going to try their luck with. Our thanks go out to Beat Cycles, Century Cycles, Joy Machines Bike Shop, Share the River and Cannondale Bicycles for their generosity in providing outstanding prizes for our guests to win.

Our presentation included words from several special guests: Annelise Coleman (our Board President), Ken Knabe (local cycling attorney and longtime sponsor/supporter), Calley Mersmann (City of Cleveland’s Senior Strategist of Transit & Mobility), and Chris Alvarado (founding Board President). The passionate words of those speaking on behalf of the organization, combined with those of the staff members themselves made for an inspirational hour of looking back as well as ahead to what comes next. We also gave special award recognition to Bike Cleveland founders Marie Kittredge, Barb Clint, Michael Hudecek, Kevin Cronin, Jim Sheehan and Chris Alvarado as well as John Mitterholzer, Program Director for Climate and Environmental Justice at the George Gund Foundation.

You can review the complete presentation below.

If you missed our event, you can always Join The Movement to support our work and be part of what comes next. If Making A Donation to safe streets is more your speed, we will put it to work on the projects and initiatives outlined in the presentation above. We thank everyone for their continued support, and look forward to seeing you out there on two wheels sometime soon!
