In Memory of our Friend, Cara McManus

The Cleveland cycling community has lost a great friend and ally. Cara McManus succumbed to her battle with lung cancer early this morning at 4:15am. Cara was adored by many, and was highly involved in the cycling community. Cara was a Team Medical Mutual member for MS150, and a super volunteer for us at Bike Cleveland.

We were pleased to recognize her selfless work at our last annual meeting with a “Volunteer of the Year” award, and are grateful for all Cara did for cycling in Northeast Ohio. She was a true advocate for cycling, and embodied the spirit of what Bike Cleveland is working towards. She will be deeply missed.

Through her battle, Cara worked to bring LUNGevity to Cleveland a 5k run/walk with proceeds going to lung cancer research, education, and support. Learn more about the event here. 

Cara is survived by her husband, Jeff, and we send our best wishes to Cara’s family, friends, and loved ones in this extremely difficult time.
