PUBLIC MEETING: E. 131st Street Rehabilitation Project

UPDATE: This meeting had been postponed, and is now rescheduled for November 6th. Details below.

Join Councilmen Joseph Jones, Kevin Bishop, Kenneth Johnson and guests for a public meeting to discuss the rehabilitation of E. 131st Street between Miles and Union.

When: Wednesday, November 6th from 5-7pm
Where: Mt. Pleasant NOW Community Development Corporation (13815 Kinsman Rd., Cleveland, OH 44120)

The focus of the meeting will be the upcoming construction that will begin November 2019.

Safety on E. 131st Street is important. E. 131st is on the City of Cleveland’s Vision Zero High Injury Network. Over the past 5 years there have been 10 fatal or serious injury crashes along E. 131st (Below is a map of Cleveland’s High Injury Network for reference).

Today the street is striped as a two lane road with the occasional on-street car parked, but the street is treated as a 4 lane speedway with very narrow lanes.

We encourage people to attend the public meeting and ask what is being done to make the street safe for people biking, walking and driving along the corridor. This is an opportunity to fix one of the most dangerous streets in Cleveland.
