Stand With Us as we Build a Safer Future
Dear Friend of Bike Cleveland,
As 2024 draws to a close, all of us at Bike Cleveland are filled with gratitude for your unwavering support. Your dedication has been pivotal in driving our mission forward, demonstrating the urgent need and widespread demand for safe streets that serve all road users.
This year, Bike Cleveland achieved several key milestones in our mission to create safe streets. We launched the Cleveland Transportation Academy, empowering 19 residents to become advocates for safe streets in their neighborhoods, and released our first-ever Crash Report, providing crucial insights into serious bicycle and pedestrian crashes and fatalities. Our Better Streets Committees grew, helping local advocates advance hyper-local street improvement projects, and events like Celebrate Trails Day and Bike With a Mayor brought leaders and residents together to experience both the safe and not-so-safe walking and biking conditions found along our transportation corridors.
Over 5,000 people came together at events like Bike to Work Day and the Bike Cleveland Fundo, celebrating our shared mission. With help from dedicated volunteers like you, we also distributed 150 bike lights through our Random Acts of Brightness program and continued to provide youth education through school programs.
Our advocacy efforts focused on neighborhood traffic calming, resulting in the installation of 100 speed tables and centerline hardening to reduce speeding. We also partnered with businesses to install five fix-it stations and 36 new bike parking spaces.
Our work is made possible by supporters like you, who believe in a region that is sustainable, connected, healthy, and vibrant. By promoting bicycling and advocating for safe, equitable transportation, we are building a better future for everyone.

Looking ahead to 2025, we’re excited about several transformative projects that will tangibly demonstrate the type of safe and comfortable streets which bicyclists and pedestrians desire. Such projects will include the long-awaited groundbreaking of the Superior Midway, a 2.4-mile protected bike lane linking Public Square to E. 55th Street, and the installation of Cleveland’s first parking-protected bike lane on Payne Avenue. We’re also pushing to accelerate implementation of the Vision Zero Action Plan built around Mayor Bibb’s goal of eliminating serious injuries and fatalities on our streets by 2032 through the expansion of city-wide traffic calming on streets identified as high-crash corridors. Together, these improvements will make Cleveland’s streets safer and more connected than ever.
Additionally, we’re partnering with the City of Cleveland and Cuyahoga County to launch Shared Mobility Parking Hubs for e-bikes and scooters, making it easier for residents and visitors to access sustainable transportation options. With the adoption of Cleveland Moves, a new mobility plan focused on upgrading and connecting the bike network, Bike Cleveland will continue to advocate for rapid implementation of a system of stress-free routes for cyclists, scooter riders, and pedestrians across the city. And, as always, we’ll work both to expand our education programs to serve more youth and adults, resulting in a stronger, safer, better informed bike community, and grow our events and programs, creating increased opportunities for riders to connect and explore our community on two-wheels.
Our efforts reflect what we’ve heard from you and countless others. Public interest polling which we commissioned revealed that 75% of Cleveland residents support increased investment in safer biking and walking infrastructure. Over 66% of respondents expressed the belief that safer streets should be a priority for local leaders. This overwhelming support underscores a shift in our community’s priorities—people want safer streets, and they’re willing to invest in that vision.
As we push forward with this momentum, we look to you for your continued partnership and financial support. By making a tax-deductible donation today, you are investing in a future where streets are safer and more comfortable for everyone: cyclists, pedestrians, scooter riders, and even motorists With your help, we will expand our advocacy, grow our educational outreach, and continue our work for a safer, more connected, and vibrant Cleveland.
We have made great strides, but much remains to be accomplished. Your support fuels our work, and together, we will ensure that Cleveland becomes a world-class city for biking and walking.
