Help make our miles count!

Local riders: NOACA needs your volunteer help to make our miles count!

NOACA is in need of volunteers to conduct bike counts throughout Cuyahoga, Geauga, Lake, Lorain, and Medina Counties. Volunteers will be asked to count passing bicyclists and pedestrians for two hour periods, while sitting outside, at various road and trail intersections on the following dates:

Tuesday, May 15 from 5-7 p.m.
Wednesday, May 16 from 5-7 p.m.
Thursday, May 17 from 5-7 p.m.

With your volunteer help, NOACA conducts annual bicycle and pedestrian counts throughout Northeast Ohio in May and September. These counts are conducted in order to:

  • Gauge regional and local levels of bicycling and walking beyond what is already available from Census data.
  • Identify trends based on count data to aid the planning and design of multimodal transportation infrastructure, as well as the implementation and execution of encouragement, educational, and enforcement programs.
  • Aid in the prioritization of bicycle and pedestrian infrastructure and planning projects.

Please join the team of volunteers needed to make sure that the increase in local ridership is counted!
