Action Alert: Support Patty Banks

UPDATED 9/28/2021

An update on Patty Banks support: We heard from Patty that the motorist that hit her has accepted a plea deal; pleading guilty to 3 felonies and a misdemeanor. With the acceptance of a plea deal there will not be a trial. It’s important to note that Patty Banks is “very much at peace” with the plea deal.

The sentencing date is approaching, and she has asked for your continued support on this day. We will be meeting at the Lorain County Courthouse, 225 Court Street, Elyria, OH [MAP] at 9:30am on November 1st, 2021. The sentencing begins at 10am, we DO NOT know if we will be permitted inside – so please be prepared for the possibility of being outdoors.

If you would like to be added to the calendar invite, and receive any last-minute updates, you can add yourself using the form at the bottom of this page.

News stories outlined the search and quick apprehension of the driver (and location of the vehicle at a body shop), the subsequent arrest, and the court arraignment where driving privileges were reinstated. There was much media coverage at the time, and on site shows of support at the courthouse for Patty.
