Bike, Scoot, or Walk To Vote!

Early voting is well underway, and nationally voting is trending high – a good thing for democracy. Having a plan for voting has been a consistent theme, and having a plan to GET to the Board of Elections to vote early, or to your local polling place on election day is no different. Plan to bike or walk there!

If you are biking to the Cuyahoga County Board of Elections on Euclid Avenue – know that Euclid Avenue has bike lanes for most of it’s length from E21st to University Circle. To find your way there on the best route possible, take a look at the color-coded bike map from NOACA to plan your route, or put your Google Maps app in “bike mode” to show you the green routes, and build a route based on them.

And when Election Day comes, you have many of our local shared mobility companies offering free or discounted rates that Tuesday! These shared devices can make getting to your polling location fast and easy.

Spin Scooters: “At the core of democracy is the ability for every citizen to have their opinions heard. Transportation should not be a barrier to exercising one’s right to vote. With the Spin To Vote campaign, we want to do our small part to help anyone who wants to vote in-person get to their local polling station on Election Day. On Tuesday, November 3rd Spin is offering a $10 promo code SPINTOVOTE.”

Bird Scooters: “Simply enter code VOTE2020 on election day to receive a free Bird ride up to 30 minutes on Tuesday, November 3. The discount code is valid for US riders only.”

Lime Scooters: “Riders will be able to use the promotional code LIMETOPOLLS2020 to receive two free rides up to 30 minutes across all vehicles in the Lime app, including JUMP bikes, in the United States.”

RTA: Free rides all day bus, rail and paratransit riders.

If any of the other companies serving Cleveland offer up codes, we’ll update this page. And if your plan doesn’t include biking, scooting, or walking – there are rideshare companies offering discounts and promotions as well.
