Deltrece’s Farewell

Like all organizations do, we are experiencing some changes, and it is with some sadness that we say goodbye to Bike Cleveland’s Outreach and Membership Manager Deltrece Daniels at the end of 2021. In the 5 years since Deltrece started at Bike Cleveland a lot has changed. Through Deltrece’s leadership of Bike Cleveland’s membership and outreach programs she:

  • Grew our membership grew to over 1,000 members, helping elevate our membership program and grow our powerful movement to support people biking and walking.
  • Launched new education programs that encouraged more people to confidently get out and ride. These programs include our monthly Bike Smarts series, our senior focused programming Silver Spokes, the Refugee Bike Program, as well as numerous education programs with you from elementary to high school. In total Deltrece reached over 3,000 youth and adults experience the joys of biking through her passion for bicycle education.
  • Hosted numerous group rides including the annual Witches Ride, Rolling Bike Smarts, and council/professional development bike rides.
  • Helped recruit and train 27 new League Certified Instructors to expand bike education opportunities throughout Greater Cleveland.
  • Led our Random Acts of Brightness program, helping improve rider safety by recruiting volunteers to distribute over 2,500 bike lights over the past 5 years.
  • Represented Bike Cleveland, and the larger cycling community at 5 National Bike Summit’s, talking with legislators about the importance of investing in and passing policies to advance biking and walking.
  • Deltrece’s contributions to Bike Cleveland and the cycling community were recognized by the League of American Bicyclists in March of 2019 when she was awarded the Emerging Leader Award.

While we are sad to see Deltrece leave our small but mighty team at Bike Cleveland. We know she won’t be far. We look forward to continuing to work with her and utilize her passion for educating people on bikes. Take a moment and watch Deltrece’s farewell video below.
