Cleveland Cycling Instructor Class
Do you have a desire to help people feel more secure about getting on a bike, to create a mindset that bikes are treated as a vehicle, and to ensure that people on bikes know how to ride safely and legally? Are you a born teacher? Then perhaps becoming a League Certified Cycling Instructor is for you.
Bike Cleveland is hosting a 3-day League of American Bicyclists Certified Instructor Seminar in Cleveland April 24-26. Learn more about the class and then register here.
To register there are three things that you need to do as a pre-requisite.
1. Become a member of the League of American Bicyclists.
2. Take the Traffic Skills 101 Class at the Ohio City Bicycle Co-op. The class includes on-bike and classroom education. You must register for one each of the Traffic Skills Intro AND Road Test . The dates and links to register for the Traffic Skills 101 at OCBC are:
3. You must complete an online Traffic Skills 101 Test, which can be found and completed at BikeEd.org.
The seminar emphasizes how to teach bicycle safety and skills to provide increased comfort and confidence for new and returning bicyclists and youth. The skills learned are also helpful if you are interested in volunteering with Bike Cleveland or the Ohio City Bicycle Co-op.
